Welcome to Markshot
The People's Market.
Markshot is a competitive market prediction platform with real stakes. Connect your wallet, stake Marks in head-to-head battles on stocks, crypto, commodities, and forex, and build a balance that converts to ETH on the marketplace.
Getting started
You only need a browser wallet extension and a minute to set up. Markshot never asks for your seed phrase. During beta, no ETH or other funds are required.
- 1
Connect & sign in
Click Connect in the header and choose your wallet (MetaMask, Coinbase, Rainbow, Rabby, or Phantom). Markshot signs you in automatically. You approve the sign-in message in your wallet (says "Sign in to Markshot"; not a transaction). Mainnet only. Markshot does not prompt your wallet on page load, only when you click Connect. Your wallet is for identity only: we never ask you to send ETH or approve a transfer to play. For beta, we recommend a fresh empty wallet with no funds.
- 2
Set up your profile
Pick a unique display name (3–20 characters, letters, numbers, and underscores). Required before the daily faucet and before creating or joining battles. Until then, Profile shows a Set up profile button that takes you to the setup form.
- 3
You're in
Your Marks balance appears in the header. Visit Profile for your stats, faucet, and transaction history.
Marks: stake, win, convert to ETH
Marks are how you stake in battles today. Every battle puts Marks on the line. Win and your balance grows. Earned Marks from battles will be eligible to trade for real ETH on the marketplace.
- Signup bonus: 500 Marks on your first login (one time per wallet)
- Daily faucet: 200 Marks every 24 hours, available after profile setup
- Battle winnings: take the pot when your prediction is correct. This is how you build toward ETH payouts
- Marks History on Profile shows each stake, win, loss, and refund as separate entries
Prediction battles
Battles are head-to-head market predictions. One trader creates a battle; another joins the opposite side. When the timer ends, the live price decides the winner.
- 1
Create a battle
Go to Battles → Create Battle (profile required). Pick a market (stocks, crypto, commodities, or forex), choose UP or DOWN, set a timeframe (default 15 min; options: 5 min, 10 min, 15 min, 1 hour, 4 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours), and stake 10–10,000 Marks. Your stake is locked until the battle finishes or is cancelled. If your balance is too low, the form shows Insufficient Marks to Create Battle and disables submit.
- 2
Join a battle
Browse Open battles and take the opposite side with the same stake. If your Marks balance is too low, the battle page shows Insufficient Marks to Join instead of a join button.
- 3
Wait for a joiner
Your battle stays OPEN until someone takes the opposite side with the same stake. As the creator, you can cancel before a joiner enters and your stake is refunded instantly. If nobody joins within 24 hours, the battle is cancelled automatically.
- 4
Battle goes live
When a joiner enters, the battle becomes ACTIVE. We record the entry price and start the countdown. Watch live price updates on the battle page. Battles resolve automatically when time is up.
- 5
Resolution
When time is up, we compare entry price to exit price. UP wins if price rose; DOWN wins if it fell. The winner takes the pot. If prices tie, both sides are refunded.
- Open, Active, Ended, and My Battles tabs. Filter and sort on each tab. Tabs prefetch and cache for snappy switching; Active may load slower the first time while prices resolve
- Create Battle: pick from Stocks, Crypto, Commodities, or Forex tabs in the asset picker
- Filters panel is collapsed by default. Tap Filters (Show) to expand; active filter count shows on the header
- Battle cards highlight the set timeframe; active battles show a red Ends in countdown
- Each card includes a detail panel: lineup on Open battles, live standings when Active, final result when Ended
- Ended battles show winner and loser labels (neutral text) with coloured trader names, plus staked and won amounts
- My Battles requires a connected wallet and completed profile
- Profile setup required to create or join battles
- You cannot join your own battle
- Joiner must match the creator's stake exactly
- Winner takes the full pot. No platform fee in the current deployment
Leaderboards
Compete on three ranking boards. Stats update after battles resolve.
- Global: total Marks balance
- Weekly: Marks won from battle wins in the last 7 days
- Accuracy: win rate; need at least 5 resolved battles to qualify
- Global, Weekly, and Accuracy tabs prefetch and cache for quick switching
- Each row shows win rate and record (e.g. 70% · 7W · 3L); Accuracy tab shows W/L under the name and win % in the score column
- Your row is highlighted when signed in; rank shown at the bottom if outside the top 50
- Tap a row to open that trader's public profile (stats only; no wallet or Marks balance)
Wallet safety
Markshot is designed so your keys never leave your wallet. A few habits keep you safe.
- Beta: use a new empty wallet with no ETH. Markshot only uses your wallet to sign in, not to move funds
- Markshot never auto-connects your wallet on page load
- Bookmark the official site URL and check it before connecting
- Sign-in is a plain-text message. Never approve a transfer you didn't expect
- Markshot will never ask for your seed phrase or private key
- Disconnecting or switching wallet accounts signs you out after you had connected
- Wrong network? Switch your wallet to Ethereum mainnet before signing in
